Q: Can you get calmness from abilify(Aripiprazole)?
I’m just going to start taking abilify and just wants to know the benefits of the medicine. I’m 15 BTW. I want to know if it really give you calmness
or confidence… THANKS in advance
A: Abilify can give you calmness but you need to supply the confidence. Once the medication starts to work it should be much easier to become more and more confident. I take it and it really does help with anxiety and keep you calm. Just give it time to work. Best of luck.
Q: My doctor gave me ABILIFY (aripiprazole) for my social anxiety disorder. Is there anything I should no about?
this medicine? Its 2 mg, she started me off with a low doce. (im 14)
A: well, I’ve been on abilify for 2 months and in the beginning I had really bad side effects. I was real gittery and I just paced the floor because I couldn’t get comfortable. I was constantly in motion to the point where I wore myself out. I was started out on 10 mg though. I have gotten adapted to my medication now and everything is fine. I think since you started on 2 mg everything should be fine. If not, be sure to tell your doctor.
Q: Abilify side effects question (I have social anxiety disorder)?
I have been put on Abilify (aripiprazole) for treatment of social anxiety disorder. Since taking this medicine, I’ve been hyper, and having trouble sitting still. In school, I find it hard to concentrate, and to stay in one spot. I just want to get up, and run as fast as I can, or just do something, but i move around alot.
I feel like I have ADHD or something! I really think the meds did this. AS OF NOW, I CANT EVEN DO MY HOMEWORK! I can’t focus….I am telling my mom to get me off of this. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS MEDICINE. ITS TORCHURING ME, I JUST WANNA SCREAM AND DO SOMETHING FFD

A: Some medicines can make you sleepy.You need to see a doctor for advice about the medication.Tell your mum about how you feel. See a counsellor at school and explain to him what is going onfor you.

i have obsessive compulsive disorder – a psychartic disease. i am taking medicines since 3 years like flunil , lamictal and since 2 months i am taking abilify – aripiprazole tablets. my obsession has decreased to a great extend. but now what is the problem is that i don’t feel like living.

A: well perhaps the heat is getting to your brain out in the mid east, but if you are not willing to try anything except what y ou want then you will always be struggling. 25 y/o male living with parents? why? You are an adult how about act like one !!!! If you don’t have friends that is only your fault, you don’t even attempt to try. You want to be lazy and NOt work just because y ou have money. What a cop out! Many people with lots of money still work. How about pride in one self. IF you seem to have “fun” body building then do that more then two hours a day, not like you have anything else to do or that you will attempt to do. Everyone is in control of their own life and it is only what YOU make of it. Either get up and do something positive about it or quit bitching about wanting to die when you apparently have almost everything but even that isn’t enough cause here you are complaining.

A: Hey– I’ve been there. Your parents would cry every day for the rest of their lives.The people you know at the gym would miss you too! But most of all– what if there isn’t a heaven? And you stop this one chance, this amazing miracle of life you’ve got–you end it– and that was it? Here’s what I did when I felt bad– I thought of just one thing I like, or love. You love the gym. Think of something else you love–pancakes, green grass, kissing, anything. Imagine not having that? Are you curious about what the sunrise or sunset will look like tomorrow? Fight for your right to be happy, or fulfilled. Maybe you could work at the gym? I bet you’d be great at it! OR–maybe you should talk to your doctor and get on another medicine. I was on lithium once and it was the wrong thing and I felt so bad. Two days after I got off of it I felt like a different person– and was so scared that I might have killed myself! Things DO CHANGE. You know they do! You must be someone who knows endurance–use that! Be well and be with us. Trust me, we need you here.

A: aripiprazole- that is probably the problem. I use Prozac. I know People that used aripiprazole, and they ALL felt the way you do.
I am Also O.C.D. Get off the aripiprazole. and start realizing there is nothing wrong with being O.C.D., it’s just our way of becoming satisfied and happy.

A: I know how you feel. I was there and I’ve dealt wfriends that were in the same situation. Since you don’t want advice about getting a job or making friends the only advice I’m going to give you is spiritual advice. Maybe what you need is a relationship with God. That’s what helped me. I felt that I had no purpose in life and that there wasn’t anything worth living for. I started learning about God and what he asks of us. I am now very happy and doing God’s will. Maybe that’s what you need to get your head above water so to speak. Just a suggesstion but if you’re interested I know alot of people that would be willing to help you…..I can get people in your area too
