Q: bupropion??
how much bupropion will affect me weight
???
its for adhd ..

A: i know you take 100mg of bupropion (i aint phsychic) but maybe around 200-300mg a day and might give signs of anorexia if overdose is long-termT_T

But since you are taking the correct requirements, don’t worry about anything as it won’t give any side effects as long as you watch your taking of Bupropion^_^

Bupropion won’t help for weight loss for a girl like you^_^

Q: What is the difference between bupropion and bupropion sr?
I was on bupropion 100 mg/twice daily, but the doctor changed me to bupropion SR 150/twice daily. The bupropion worked great, Im just wondering if there is a difference in the meds with the “SR” added. Different side affects? or anything like that
Also, will it affect me differently that just plain bupropion?

A: SR stands for “slow release” or “sustained release”. This means the medicine enter system slower and over longer period of time compared to regular form. It is the same medicine, so side effects would be the same or maybe little less due to timed release of medicine. It just works longer and without the ups and downs in the blood.Take care!
It should not affect you much differently, in fact it is easier on body and mind since med. is released over time, not all at once.
One not for SR version: NEVER BREAK OR CHEW THESE TABLETS OR IT COULD RESULT IN OVERDOSE>

This link has some good info.
Take care!

Q: How long after stopping tricyclic antidepressant can I start bupropion?
My doctor is having me taper off of desipramine (a tricyclic antidepressant) and wants to start me on bupropion. When I finish the desipramine, can I start the bupropion right away or do I have to wait a certain amount of time before starting it?

A: Yes you may, but if you start feeling anxious, jittery, or have flu-like symptoms, call your physician.

Washout periods are especially important when going from tricyclics to monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)–typically waiting 14 days to “washout” MAOI before starting a tricyclic, but not as much when going to bupropion.

Bupropion may decrease the metabolism of desipramine (making desipramine levels increase), but because you’re tapering the drug, this shouldn’t be an issue.

Best of luck to you.

Q: what will happen if you take bupropion sr but also have an eating dissorder?
Im recently taking bupropion but i also somewhat have an eating dissorder. Will anything serious happen to me?

A: yes you may put on weight…

Q: When taking bupropion, can you miss a day without taking it to drink alcohol an not be harmed?
Ok, so I’m taking bupropion. I know that you can’t drink alcohol while taking it. I was wondering if I didn’t take it one day an I drink that night will it still harm me?

A: I really wouldn’t skip a day of the Bupropion, I would keep taking it.

You didn’t mention how much you plan to drink, but don’t drink too much (don’t pass out). Alcohol is a depressant, and negates the effects of any antidepressant you’re taking.

I have a few drinks now and then, but not on a regular basis.

Q: what will happen if i take bupropion hydrochloride and i have an eating disorder?
I got bupropion hydrochloride yesterday and I have an eating disorder. On the list of people that should not take it is people with or people who have had an eating disorder so I was wondering why shouldn’t i take them or what will happen if i do?

A: i agree. you should call a doctor. and if u want to remain private and not have them know you maybe you could try a toll free help line? or even call the number for that particular drug and just ask of curiosity

Q: What can I expect from taking bupropion?
My doctor just put me on bupropion for depression. I am just wondering what anyone else has to say about it. I have heard good things and bad things about it. I want some opinions. Does it work? And how well.

A: Bupropion is the generic name for Wellbutrin.
I’ve been taking it for about 8 years now. I’m bipolar, very heavy on the depression and have to take a combination of medication to keep it under control. I’ve been on 19 different meds and out of those, Wellbutrin is one of the ones that has worked the most with the least side effects for me. It’s definitely the best antidepressant I’ve been on (because of lack of side effects).

When I first went on it, I lost my appetite for a while and had to remind myself to eat. But that didn’t last long. The only other time I had any problem with it was when I went from my normal 300 to 450 mg, which gave me hot flashes. On 300 I have no side effects. The first couple of years it was like a miracle, it was so effective. Sometimes over time there meds don’t work as well. So I have had a second antidepressant added to the mix at times in order to more fully control the depression. It works differently than the other antidepressants because it works on a different neurotransmitter (dopamine.) Some of the big benefits of it are it has a very low risk of weight gain or sexual side effects, which are extremely common with other antidepressants. I’ve been on Wellbutrin longer than any other medication..although all of the other meds in my “cocktail” have changed over the years…I stick with this because it works.

My son recently started on it with excellent results at 150 mg. We tried 300 but then he started having side effects that made it clear the dose was too high for him, so back down to 150.
We both are on the XL (once a day) version, but I used to be on SR (twice a day).

Q: Has anyone taken bupropion and chantix at the same time?
I’ve been taking bupropion for 2 months and today my doctor prescribed chantix as well. Has anyone else taken both at the same time? If so, please tell me details, how you felt, if you recommend it. Thanks in advance.

A: Follow your doctors advice with Chantix. For more Chantix information, click the following link: http://www.121doc.com/champix.html?a_aid=fbb92383

Q: When is it safe to take an anxiety treatment drug after taking Wellbutrin/bupropion?
I wanna start taking kava kava but I just got off of bupropion so how long should I wait to take kava kava?

A: Personally, Id say never, but Im not a fan of chemically created side effects. Smoke a bowl, and watch your anxiety go bye bye. Im ADHD, Agoraphobic, Claustrophobic, Bi-Polar, and I used to suffer from Suicidal thoughts, massive depression and chronic anxiety attacks. Smoking herb, mostly indicas, Ive been able to mellow out and lead a normal life without the side effects that come from dumping poisons into my body.

Q: does bupropion have any affect on the metabolism of methadone?
I know some meds speed up or slow down metaboism of other drugs due to CYP 450 enzymes. I haven’t found a website that explains what bupropion does to methadone in the body. any insight into this will be great, thanx.

Q: Does it matter what time you take your dose of Bupropion?
It’s been a week since I started Bupropion SR. During the first week I felt nothing. It sometimes takes awhile for it to fully work, but I was taking it at different times of the day? Some days I took it at 6am and other days I would take it around 10 or 11. Should I take my dose the same time everyday or can it be stagnant?

A: It is recommended that if you are taking it twice a day (150mg) you should allow at least 8 hours between doses. I guess that would mean keep it to at least 16 hours between doses if you are taking it once a day. See:

Q: what can happen if i stop taking my bupropion xl?
I want to stop taking my bupropion what could happen?

A: Over a period of unquantified time you may revert back to the state that required you to take it in the first place.

Also it will not affect your everyday chances of survival, your odds of getting hit by runaway train will remain exactly the same. The odds of you winning the lottery may decrease tho’ coz you’ll be so panicked by the runaway train thing that you won’t buy a lottery ticket.

Talk to your Doctor if you really need to know.

Don’t say I’m being cruel, what on earth are YOU thinking of. I know it’s difficult, but why make things harder for yourself than they need to be?. You think I’m insensitive, ask your loved ones what they think of your question.

Q: Is there a difference in generic wellbutrin xl (bupropion) and the name brand Wellbutrin XL?
My doctor prescribed Wellbutrin XL, but my insurance only covers the generic, Bupropion XL. Is there any huge difference I should know about? I have read reviews from others who are not happy with the generic, but I wanted to know if it is a personal preference on there part or if there is actually a “chemical” difference.

A: When a drug is created there are 2 names associated with it, the brand name that the company dedices on, in this case Wellbutrin, and the active ingredient, in this case Bupropion. When the drug patent is expired, generic drug cpmpanies are then able to produce the generic, which will always be called the second name, in this case Bupropion. This name is the active ingredient that makes up the medication. The only difference between the brand and the generic is the fillers that certain generic drug companies may use. The brand name is higher in cost and insurence companies will always want you to use the generic, sometimes even after your DR specifies he wants you on brand.

I work at a pharmacy and I always take the generic when available. The active ingredient is the same as I mentioned before. The only 2 medications I am weary of brand and generic is Coumadin (blood thinner) and Synthroid( thyroid medicine) I would not change from brand to generic and vice versa unless the DR knows.

Hope this helps!

Q: How long does bupropion take to get out of your system for a drug test?
I would just like to know. It is 150 mg but I may want to take more than one. Are there any good side effects too?

A: bupropion half life is 20 hours the formula for drug elimination is (T^1/2) so it would be 20 hours for half the dose to leave your system and another 20 for half of the remaining dose and another 20 for half that remaining dose so one and so forth…calculate it yourself.

Q: How long does wellbutrin/bupropion take to get out of my system?
I’m on 150mg, and ever since I started it I haven’t touched weed or alcohol (which I had only on occasion before). Theres a party I’m going to in a few weeks and I would like to be able to have a few drinks and perhaps smoke a bit. I’m definitely planning on stopping the wellbutrin for this (which won’t be a problem), I just want to know how many days before I should stop taking it.

A: Honestly the marijuana will not affect the wellbutrin, though as far as the alcohol, i do know that if you take it in the morning (assuming that you will be drinking later in the day) you should be fine with the combination. Now, with that said, if your wellbutrin package says XR on it (which stands for extended release) you might have a problem. The worst thing that the mix could do to you is cause nausea, or mood swings for the night because of the obvious conflict and contradiction between Depressant and Anti-Depressant. Though, wellbutrin (if you’re even familiar with these terms) is an SNRI, which stands for Serotonin nor-epinephrine re-uptake inhibitor. SSRI’s (Im not going to define it because i do not want you to get lost in translation, as i sometimes do, lol) and SNRI’s (which are the classification of most heard of antidepressants) are different in the ways that they work and the chemicals that they use. So, the point is, that since it works in a different way, you may have no problems with the intake of alcohol and wellbutrin, though i do not advise the consumption of the two to be at the same time. Though, on another tip, how long it takes for wellbutrin to clear out of your system depends usually on how long you’ve been taking it. It all depends on how adjusted your body is to it. Now, I advise that you do not stop the wellbutrin weeks in advance because that in fact could mess you up. So, either take the wellbutrin up until the day of the party and space the consumption of both substances out, or cut the wellbutrin out of your routine simply for that day. I am not a doctor, but a doctor also would not be real with you and let you know that there are virtually no risks with wellbutrin and alcohol. Oh, and the dosage really doesn’t matter either, that only plays a part in how fast it gets in and out of your system and how much your brain needs to preform your “desired” function.
