Q: Can i take valium (diazepam) with Cymbalta (duloxetine)?
Ive been taking Cymbalta (duloxetine) for a month now 60mg a day. But a month before i started on them my doctor gave me valium (diazepam) 10mg when needed not that often. Can i still take the valium with the Duloxetine?
A: Absolutely. SSRIs and benzodiazepines are commonly prescribed together. Just take as directed.
Q: Duloxetine – cant sleep on it?
I’m taking duloxetine mainly for anxiety and im not sleeping well on it. I get to sleep at maybe 1am and wake up at 5am.

A: you are suffering from one of the side affects, how old are you? this drug is not approved for children teenagers and questionable for young adults. this drug is in the SNRIs family,effexor,cymbalta and venlafaxine and duloxetine are serious medications. duloxetine is prescribed mainly for major depressive disorder and pain management related to diabetes. So my advice is that you find another doctor that might actually help you deal with your anxiety rather than putting you at risk for serious complications.
Q: Duloxetine Side Effects?
I have just started on Duloxetine 60 dose for depression (I previously had a nervous breakdown 5 years ago). I only took first dose yesterday and last night I hardly slept as I felt so restless and agitated. I feel exhausted but don’t think it’s just from lack of sleep. I also feel queasy but have no appetite so don’t know if it’s just cos I’m not eating.
Has anyone else experiencedside effects this quickly? Any advice?
A: One day is not long enough to tell anything. That’s not enough time for medication to work.
Give it at least a week; if you still feel like that tell your doctor.
I have been taking the same thing since December. I had mood swings for about a week or so when I first started but it’s not like that now. I also had a lack of appetite but it only lasted one day (I was kind of hoping it would last longer because I would like to lose weight).
I think the digestive side effects are probably common with this drug because my doctor keeps asking me about that. But I didn’t notice anything like that except that one day.

My doctor just prescribed Duloxetine for anxiety and Fibromyalgia. Any experiences?
A: i am just weaning off them, only because i was sick of taking any meds at all
but they were the best ones that i had tried so far
but i had been on those ones for over 1 year and it seemed that i had totallly lost concentration
give it a go
go to health then mental health and you will find a lot of people in their whi have the same sort of problems who can offer support it is a little mental health community in that section

my relative is on duloxetine for mental illness , they have been on these for nearly 2 year along with beta blockers but they only seemed to help at first as they dont seem to be helping now , anyone any advice on what i should do ?
A: Sure sounds like your relative needs to look at changing to a different antidepressant. Please have your relative reach out to a mental health professional for change of medication from Cymbalta to something else.

A: Yes, I take 60 mg Cymbalta (duloxetine). I have had suicidal thoughts most of my life. The medication helps me to control them, but they never go away completely.
I hope you talk to your doctor about this.
If antidepressants caused suicidal thoughts, then it wouldn’t make any sense to take them. However, some people have increased urges to ACT on suicidal thoughts they already have when they start taking medication. Studies show the risk is higher for young people and teenagers.
The best thing to do would be to talk to your doctor.
Q: Anyone on Duloxetine?
I have just been decreasing my Venlafaxine (Effexor) from 375mg very slowly, as I am now being puton Duloxetine (currently 60mg) but I am finding it difficult and am feeling awful. I know the withdrawal from Venlafaxine can be pretty bad, so have done it over about 5 weeks and I know that people can feel pretty crappy when they start new meds. But I just feel really crap. Anyone else been there?
Erm was hoping for some real advice . . . whisky is certainly not going to help me!
Thanks sandwich. My Psychiatrist is great and he made me come down to 75mg of Venlafaxine before I started the Duloxetine. I just feel like my head is going to explode, my legs are really heavy and I am soooo tired.
A: Nothing else to do but take it slowly.
I’m surprised that you’ve been put on another medication before having been weaned off the old one.
Get a second opinion on that if poss.

A: ummm idk but it is really hard to kill yourself or someone else on an anti-depressant….cause they are slowly released into your body through out the day….youll just end up getting sick if you take too many of them…if ur having bad thoughts….then its time that you talked to someone about how you are feeling….please get help b4 it is too late.

A: Talk to your doctor about switching meds, you need to tell her that it’s still not helping. There are many out there and I’m sure one of them will help you 
.
Also, after starting a new dose I believe you need to wait a month or 2 before you can see if it’s working or not.

A: i actually thought i was worse off on dulototine, so i said this to my psychiatrist, and he said ok lets try somthing else
anyway the new tablets he gave me i needed to have at least 10 days with no medicines at all in my body, the break was really frightening but i decided if i can manage 10 days i dont need tablets at all
so i never started the new tablets
that was 3 months ago
it is really difficult but i am better without duloxetine, i used to have panic attacks every night jus as i was trying to go to sleep, but now i dont get any
it is scary, and somtimes i think enough is enough, but this is about 3 days every few weeks the rest of the time

Q: a doctor recently gave me a possible diagnosis of Stevens Johnson syndrome?
I have subsequently stopped taking Duloxetine for 4 weeks now , yet persistant symptoms skin lesions started that looked like larva migrans, then turned vericula and some very painful with creeping feeling under my skin and also stomach cramps dihorrea, also low hb and iron , previously had to have a transfusion, had a gastroscopy but no colonoscopy, stool samples have returned normal results.

To maximise the benefits of this rest period you should try to get to the bottom of the cause of your depression and try lots of relaxation methods. Anxiety is normally caused by worrying about the future, and the future only exists in your head. Try to spend more time concentrating on what you are doing now and the mind will be to busy to waste time thinking up different futures, all ore none of which may or may not happen.
